Project Elements:
This project is a major north/south corridor running from US Route 7 to US Route 50 and south the Prince William County line, where it will connect to an extension of Route 234 Bypass. It's a controlled access urban arterial designed at 60 mph and is upgradeable to a 6-lane facility within the median. The project proposes interchanges at Route 50 and at Route 7.
Engineering Tasks:
Alignment and feasibility studies; interchange concepts at Route 50 and Route 7; construction plans, specifications and documents; cost and bond estimates.
Of Special Note:
The project was developed in 11 different construction package range from 1,800 linear feet to over two-mile segments. Urban developed a partial cloverleaf interchange concept at Route 50 and a diamond interchange concept at Route 7. The project included four flood alterations and nearly 7.2 miles of 16” and 24” watermains.
