Firaas Hakim, P.E.

Firaas started his engineering career in 2005, and joined Urban in 2013. Over the years, he has swiftly progressed through Urban’s ranks, starting as a Project Engineer, then becoming a Project Manager, a Senior Project Manager, and now an Associate. Firaas has expertise in a wide variety of projects ranging in residential, commercial, industrial, mixed use, public improvements, and military design-build projects. His broad skill set includes site layout & grading, road design, utility design, Stormwater Management/Best Management Practices design, erosion & sediment control, due diligence studies, large scale utility studies, and value engineering/life-cycle cost analyses. His extensive experience is mainly derived from Northern Virginia projects, but also includes projects in neighboring states, and projects as far away as Guam. Some notable projects include Potomac Shores, Blackburn, and Shellhorn Rd. 

Firaas provides the engineering skills, the management prowess, and the versatility to take a project from conceptual design all the way to construction administration. Beyond technical expertise, Firaas recognizes the importance of creating and developing relationships with clients, governing agencies, contractors, and other team members on any given project. Firaas also takes pride in his accountability, accessibility, and timeliness when it comes to managing a project or attending to a client’s needs whether he’s in or out of the office.
